Pete was born in Staten Island, NY, but spent most of his life living
in East Windsor, NJ. He is a currently an active resident in his hometown
of Freehold, NJ. Pete graduated high school from Hightstown High School
and completed his undergraduate work at Wagner College. One year after
Pete€s heart transplant he received his Master of Arts in Administration
and Supervision with a concentration on Educational Training. Pete comes
from a very active, athletic close family. In his senior year of college
he was diagnosed with Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy that enlarged his heart.
Pete went on for almost 9 years until January 1996 when he went into
full-blown heart failure. He spent 2 years on the waiting list before
he received the gift of life from a young man in Buffalo, NY when he
received his heart transplant on August 5, 1997. This gift was seconded
only to the meeting of his donor family exactly 1.5 years after his transplant.
